What is GrooveTech?
GrooveTech is a natural Non-Stick technology. After studying non-stick surfaces used within the kitchen on cutlery as well as cookware, we were not satisfied with the market’s approach. Non-Stick Coatings used on cutlery are better for cleaning food off of the dirty blade and do not release food from sticking to the blade while cutting. Granton Edges or Scallops (the hollow indentations sometimes found on knife blades) barely provided a non stick surface while cutting food. At times granton edges would only cause more suction and cause a harder release of food while cutting.
How does GrooveTech work?
What causes food to stick to your knives while cutting? The lack of air between the food and the knife blade causes a vacuum creating suction making the knife blade a surface food would get stuck to. By creating a continuous groove on the blade, we created a continuous airflow between the surface of the blade and the food being cut. This airflow allows a natural release of food while cutting.
